Stefan Hudak, 69, of Stratford, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 9 with his loving family by his side. Born October 21, 1951 in Plavec, Slovakia, he was the son of the late Tomas and Paulina (Fedakova) Hudak. Stefan (Steve) emigrated from Slovakia to the United States at the age of 17, fulfilling his childhood dream. He met the love of his life, Jaroslawa (Sylvia) Ropicki Hudak and they were married on November 18, 1972. They made their home in Stratford where they raised their four children. He worked in manufacturing and secured a career at Sikorsky Aircraft, where he proudly dedicated 38 years of service. Stefan was a dedicated family man and family meant everything to him. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stratford, as well as a member of the Slovak Alliance of Greater Bridgeport. He enjoyed dinner dance parties with his wife and friends and neighborhood walks with his caring and loving wife. He was an avid gardener and was meticulous in all his work. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his smile and kind demeanor. His sense of humor shined through in even the most difficult times.

Stefan will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sylvia, and his devoted children, Lydia and her husband Joseph, Mark and his wife Alison, Thomas, and Steven and his fiancé Kristen; and his beloved grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Thomas, Julia, Cole, Mayci, Trey and Josie, along with extended family members both here and abroad, as well as his friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue in Stratford. Interment will follow. The Hudak family would like to extend thanks to the skilled and caring staff at Bridgeport Hospital.
