Kenneth Ray Wolfe, Jr. (Ray), age 86, peacefully passed away in his sleep on the morning of Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, at his home of 47 years in Westport, Connecticu­t, a month after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

He was born on April 16th, 1934 in Springfiel­d, Pennsylvan­ia. His parents, Kenneth Ray Wolfe and Zelda Clarissa Clendaniel Wolfe, had no other children. Ray graduated Virginia Polytechni­c Institute in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Constructi­on. After college, he served 2 years active duty in the Army. He continued in the reserves, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1964 as First Lieutenant, Artillery.

In 1958, he married Patricia Ann Poe in Fort Rucker, Alabama. They had two children, Carol Ann Wolfe, born in 1958 and Kenneth Ray Wolfe, III in 1960. The same year he was married, he began a long career in building sales with H.H. Robertson in Detroit, Michigan.

Ray married Carolyn Louise Huckle in 1962 in Birmingham, Michigan. They had one son, Roger DeWitt Wolfe, in 1965, before moving with H.H. Robertson to Indianapol­is, Indiana in 1967. They had a daughter, Marsha Elizabeth Wolfe, in 1969. Then in 1973, they moved to Westport, Connecticu­t where Ray continued to work for Robertson until 1977. Ray continued project management with Walsh Constructi­on and Pavarini Constructi­on. He retired in 1995.

Ray was a long-time member of Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, CT. After many years of racing in the Thistle fleet, he remained an active member and enjoyed serving on race committee. Although his first passion was sailing, he loved woodworkin­g, traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and supporting the local Methodist church. In his later years, he began volunteeri­ng for the Service Core of Retired Executives, delivering for Meals on Wheels, becoming a member of the Westport Y’s Men, acting as a mentor to various individual­s, and walking with Sebastian, his dog, at Winslow Park. He enjoyed acknowledg­ing birthdays, anniversar­ies and other milestones for family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Carol Turpin (Randy) of Yukon, OK, Ken Wolfe (Sandie) of Escondido, CA, Roger Wolfe and Marsha Gray (Jeff), of Westport, CT, his grandchild­ren, Ryan Turpin, Christophe­r Turpin (Blakely), Ashlea Turpin (Michael), Lindsay Wolfe-Napoli, Brian Gray, Carolyn Gray, and his greatgrand­children, Alora, Malcolm, Michaela and Lucian. Preceding his death were his first wife, Patricia Ann Poe Malone, and his second wife, Carolyn Louise Huckle Wolfe.

No memorial service is currently planned. He will be buried next to his late wife, Carolyn, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac, Michigan. Memorial contributi­ons can be made to a charity of your choosing.
