Philip C. Perretta

-

We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Philip C. Perretta, age 77 of Milford CT, joined the angels on Sunday, January 3, 2021 surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1943 to the late Carmen Gabriel Perretta and Rita Vera (Nichols) Perretta, he started working at a very young age in his father’s store, Supreme Fruits and Vegetables in Bridgeport. He got a degree in electronics which led to his career in the CT Air National Guard. He worked hard all his life until he retired from the CT Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sargent. He served as mentor to many in the Guard as well as his outside life. He leaves a huge hole in many people’s lives that knew him.

Fifteen years ago, Phil received a lifesaving heart transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital and a second chance at life which he embraced wholeheartedly. He was knowledgeable about many aspects of life; he was a renaissance man. He was a talented artist, an avid reader, NY Giants and NASCAR fan as well as a car enthusiast. He attended many car shows and cruise nights across CT with his classic cars. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Irene (Vaggelopoulos) Perretta and his beloved daughter, Carmen Rose and son-in-law, Nick Rapetski. He had two sisters, Yvonne and Carole, a brother, Ronald as well as many nieces and a nephew.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Please wear a mask to the Service and respect social distancing.
