KEEP AN EYE ON

Something Akok’n, Pt II?: A viral video on social media earlier in the week captured Akok Akok saying he would be making his season debut on Tuesday against Marquette. Akok wound up not even being in uniform for the game. There was no such viral video this time around, but the chances of Akok making his long-awaited season debut may be better on Saturday. Unlike Marquette, which boasted 6-9, 250-pound Theo John and 6-9 Dawson Garcia up front, Butler doesn’t have great size or talent up front. And the Bulldogs would appear to be a lesser opponent than Marquette, as well, perhaps paving the way for Dan Hurley to give Akok his first game action since tearing his Achilles tendon last February.

Rebound that basketball: UConn ranks tied for second in the nation with North Carolina in offensive rebounding, averaging 16 per game. The Huskies are averaging 42 rebounds per game overall and have been outrebounded just once in their six games thus far.

Ball control: Butler turns the ball over just 10.6 times per game, good for 20th in the country. UConn has been pretty good at protecting the ball, as well, averaging just 12.8 turnovers per contest.
