October 11, 1938 - January 1, 2021. Barbara J. Courtright, 82, of Unionville, beloved wife of Raymond Courtright passed away at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital on Friday, January 1, 2021 with her daughter by her side. Born October 11, 1938, in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Lillian Uranowski Jacobs. She was a 1956 graduate of Nanticoke High School. During her high school years, Barbara was a majorette in her high school band, as well as, a member of the Holy Trinity Polish Dance Troop where she performed traditiona­l polka dancing. Barbara helped manage the family’s music store, Jacobs Music Company in Nanticoke, Kingston and Shavertown. Later, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the President of the Bridgeport Post, followed by a position as an Executive Assistant to the Head of the Nursing Department at Bridgeport Hospital. Barbara enjoyed cooking and baking, crocheting, reading to her grandchild­ren, and going on day trips with her husband. Survivors include husband of 60 years, Raymond; sons, Stephen Courtright Sr., Harwinton; Richard Courtright, New Haven; daughter, Lynn (Courtright) Collins, Avon; grandchild­ren, Stephen Courtright Jr.; Richard Courtright; Emma Collins; and Matthew Collins; brother, Lee Jacobs and wife Debra, Nanticoke; sisters in law, Wanda Ferki; Betty Lou Schumacher and husband Ben; as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sons Raymond “Hoss” Courtright and infant son Michael Courtright; sister, Mary Ann Regnosky. Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Connecticu­t Children’s Medical Center Foundation, 282 Washington Street Hartford, CT 06106.
