-

On Sunday, February 21, 2021, Mrs. Nancy Reed Kwochka, of Huntington, CT, loving wife to Dr. William Kwochka and mother to Bill, Ken and Rob passed away at the age of 85 with her three sons by her side.

Nancy was born on June 8, 1935 in Albany, NY to Dana F. Reed, Jr. and Helen (Somlock) Reed, where she spent most of her childhood. As a first-generation college student, she graduated as a dental hygienist from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1959. It was in dental hygiene school where she met her future husband and love of her life, William Kwochka, a dental student; they had been married for 63 years. Following their time at Temple, Bill and Nancy moved to Brooklyn for a year, then to Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, IL. After a year in Boston, Bill and Nancy opened up their own practice in 1963 on Summer Street in Stamford.

In 1972, Nancy and Bill settled in Trumbull where they raised their sons and she worked alongside Bill at the Center for Dentistry. There she immersed herself in the roles of partner, mom, keeper-of-the-books, chief cook and bottle-washer, wielder of the wooden spoon, confidant, peace-keeper, taxi-driver, good friend & eventually Granny. In addition, Nancy was an avid golfer that enjoyed spending time with friends. She was a long time member of Brownson Country Club and enjoyed many fun memories on the links. She also loved traveling and wintering in Florida with Bill. One of her greatest joys, however, was spending time with her grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, as well as her parents, Dana F. and Helen Reed. She is survived by her sister Arlene Trowbridge, her three sons and their spouses, Rob and Linda Kwochka, Ken and Nora Kwochka, and Bill Kwochka and Anne Vilen, and grandchildren Ken, Annalee, Anna, Micaela, Zak, Katie, and Tim.
