Robert Lee Whalen, age 42 of Ansonia, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born in Bridgeport on July 26, 1978 to Mary (Jacobs) Whalen and the late Edward Whalen. Robert was a graduate of Central High School and he was employed by the Derby Board of Education. He had many creative skills and was a painter for many years. His creativity was not only used for his job, but also to assist his family and friends. He was described by his loved ones as an angel on earth, always willing to help anyone. One of his greatest joys in life was his daughter, Alexis. He always loved teaching her new things and going on hikes and watching movies.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Alexis Whalen and her mother, Holly Whalen, his mother, Mary Whalen; brothers, Richard Domschine, Scott Domschine, Joseph Domschine, John Whalen, and James Whalen; his two sisters, Lia Mastri and Mindy Whalen. He also had many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Alexis Whalen and his nephew, Michael Smith.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Alexis’ education fund. Checks can be made payable to her mother, Holly Whalen.
