Emelia D. Balado, age 87, of Bridgeport, the widow of Luis H. Balado entered into heaven rest Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Trumbull, CT.

Emelia was born on September 16, 1934 in Oriente Manzanillo, Cuba the beloved daughter of the late Armando and Maria. She was raised with 6 siblings in a Catholic household full of culture, love and respect. Emelia worked in Havana where she was courted by Luis Balado, shortly after they were married. Their union of 51years was fruitful with three children, nine grandchild­ren and eight great-grandchild­ren.

Emelia was 34 when she relocated to the United States. She worked at The Heim Bearing as a machinist for over 25 years. In her pastime she loved to cater to her family. Emelia was an excellent cook who created family traditions of Sunday dinners.

She was predecease­d by her husband Luis H. Balado.

Emelia is survived by: children, Lucia (Gary) Monk, Asela Balado (Angel) Perez, Roberto (Danielle) Balado; grandchild­ren, Melissa Vivo, Jennifer Vivo, Vanessa Torres, Karina Perez, Taylor Balado, Roberto Luis Balado, Gary Monk, Uriah Monk, Etien Rogers; great-grandchild­ren, Antonio Giovanni Cordero, Luis Antonio Guzman, Anthony Nathanial Guzman, Destiny Guzman, Nisaa Williams, Justin Maddox Potts, Adalynn Monk, Nova London Perez and a host of extended family and friends that will cherish her memory.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, July 9, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604 Tel: (203)334-9999.
