Doyle advances to Junior Amateur quarterfinals

Matt Doyle remains alive in his title defense at the 80th Connecticut Junior Amateur.

Doyle won his first two matches on Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals at Watertown GC. Doyle (Madison CC) defeated Cody Brook (Tumble Brook CC) and Will Lord (Suffield CC), respectively. He will face Luke Stennett in the quarterfinals Thursday morning.

Stennett, out of Twin Hills CC, eliminated Brett Chodos (New Haven CC) in the Round of 16.

Vasily Konachenkov (Wallingford CC), Jackson

Roman (Shuttle Meadow CC), Connor Goode (Glastonbury Hills CC), Elias Kennon (Golf Performance Center), Bennett Ostern (Hop Meadow CC) and Sebastian Beaver (Salem GC) all advanced to the quarterfinals.

The semifinal round will follow on Thursday afternoon. The final will be held in Friday morning.
