Phyllis Marie Mase September 6, 2021

Phyllis Mase was born on September 17, 1931, in Bridgeport, CT, and passed away on September 6, 2021, just 11 days prior to her 90th birthday, in Bridgeport after a brief illness. Phyllis was the only child of Mary and Angelo DeDonato, deceased, of Trumbull. Phyllis married the love of her life, Isadore Anthony Mase, at the tender age of 19 and enjoyed 49 wonderful years together. He passed away 21 years ago. She is survived by her 3 children: David Mase, Diane Mase Kavrell (Brandon), and John Mase (Cynthia) and her 6 grandchildren: Mckenna Mase; Jackson, Haley and Quinn Kavrell; and JJ and Anthony Mase.

Family and friends were very special to Phyllis. Sunday dinners and holidays were her favorite and the house was always filled with relatives and friends all enjoying her fabulous cooking. She was an accomplished tennis player in her younger years and also a painter. She was an avid gardener and always had a green thumb. Her African violets were her babies and they lived forever. Her weekly canasta games and poker kept her engaged with many lifelong friends. Most recently the highlight of her week was her weekly Thursday zoom calls with all the grandchildren.

Phyllis lived all of her adult life in Trumbull and most recently was residing at Brightview Shelton where she made many friends.

She had a wonderful healthy life and will dearly be missed by her children and grandchildren.

A service will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 10:00 am at St. Catherines Siena Church, 2020 Shelton Road, Trumbull, with a graveside burial immediately following at Nichols Cemetery. All are invited to attend the service as well as the celebration lunch afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine’s Church.
