Kevin J. Sheehan Nov 15 2021
Kevin John Sheehan, 61, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home November 10, 2021.
Kevin was an artisan, craftsman, and skilled woodworker, bringing knowledge as a lead poisoning prevention specialist and trainer to his work. A lifelong pull to his Irish heritage helped him grow his natural gifts as an Irish dancer and connoisseur of Irish music. He was known from Portsmouth, NH, through Philadelphia, PA, Key Largo, and around South Florida for his skill on the mandolin and guitar, as well as his customary smirk and Irish twinkle in his eyes. His intellectual curiosity and carefree wanderer-like outlook on life led him on many adventures of discovery in books, nature, and the world. Yet, more often than not, one would find him sitting outside, barefoot, playing the mandolin to his own tunes. May he live on through the music that was his soul.
He is survived by his daughters: Elizabeth Bouchard and partner JaCory Winslow, and Kate and Jack Starkie; his bonus daughter, Carolyn Coe and partner Jake Birner; his parents, Jack and Lorraine
Sheehan of Hamden, CT; his siblings and their spouses, Geoff and Laura Sheehan, and Maura and Doug Wheeler. He will be forever loved by his four grandchildren: Hazel, Abigail, and Blake Bouchard, and Delaney Shaw. Kevin will be dearly missed by his long-term partner Allison Kavanagh, former wife and very close friend Anne Sheehan, a niece and 5 nephews, 2 great-nieces and a greatnephew, and many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Bahama Music Village Program of his beloved Key West. www.bvmpkw. org
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Until then, think of Kevin through melody, mirth, sea, and sun.
