Donald E. Pacowta, 68, of Shelton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 14th surrounded by family. He is the devoted husband of 44 years to Belinda (Iamarino) Pacowta. He was born in Derby on February 8, 1953, son of the late Samuel and Helene (Osuch) Pacowta. Donald was a multi-generation­al Shelton resident who built his mason business and home on family property. He had many interests including trips to New Jersey to watch NHRA drag racing, driving his 1971 Pontiac Firebird, stamp and coin collecting. He spent many hours tending to his abundant summer garden. The lifelong memories of his beloved daughters were the light of his life and he enjoyed being with them around the holidays. An animal lover his whole life, his dogs always held a special place in his heart. He is the beloved father of two daughters Kelly Iacovacci and her husband Michael of Cave Creek, AZ, and Lisa Hibler and her husband Tony of Carefree, AZ. He also leaves his sister, Christine Twerion, and two nephews.

Donald was predecease­d by his brother Thomas Pacowta. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, on Wednesday November 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. Family and friends are required to wear masks. On Thursday November 18, his procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Shelton.
