The Knicks extended it to 96-95 on Barrett’s layup before Franz Wagner led a 7-0 run with a three-point play and Anthony followed with a pair of free throws before Suggs stole Derrick Rose’s errant pass and fed Wendell Carter Jr. to make it 102-96 with 29 seconds left.

NETS 109, CAVALIERS 99

NEW YORK — James Harden scored 27 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 and Kevin Durant 23 to help the Brooklyn Nets beat the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Patty Mills added 21 points to give the Nets four 20-point scorers for the first time this season. Brooklyn improved to 11-5 with its eighth victory in 10 games.

Ricky Rubio led Cleveland with 25 points, Darius Garland added 24 and Kevin Love, Cedi Osman, and Dean Wade each had 11. The Cavaliers dropped to 9-7.

Cleveland played without center Jarrett Allen (illness), guard Collin Sexton (torn left meniscus), and forwards Evan Mobley (sprained right elbow), Lauri Markkanen (conditioning) and Lamar Stevens (sprained right ankle).

Brooklyn led 62-41 at the half, with Durant scoring 19 points and Harden 16. Cleveland outscored Brooklyn 32-19 in the third to cut it to 81-73.

HAWKS 110, CELTICS 99

ATLANTA — John Collins scored 20 points, Cam Reddish and Kevin Huerter had 19 apiece and the Atlanta Hawks won third straight game beating the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

The Celtics missed a chance to climb above .500 for the first time this season.

Trae Young chipped in with 18 points and 11 assists as the Hawks used a balanced attack to overcome a 34-point performance by Jayson Tatum.

The Hawks were up by double digits most of the second half.

After Reddish knocked down a 3-pointer to push Atlanta to an 81-70 lead with 31/2 minutes left in the third quarter, the margin never dipped below 10 points until former Hawk Dennis Schroder knocked down a 3-pointer to cut it to 108-99 with 1:47 left.

Young answered with a pull-up jumper in the lane and the Celtics were done.

Huerter scored all of his points in the first half, going 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Reddish, Collins and Young took over in the second half.

Collins also had 11 rebounds, while Reddish came up with three steals.

Boston’s Grant Williams pulled off a three-point play with a nifty bit of footwork in the closing seconds of the first half.

On a scramble along the baseline, Williams stopped dribbling when he stepped out of bounds, then stepped back in with both feet and regained possession after the ball went between his legs.

Huerter relaxed just a bit, pleading toward the official, which gave Williams an opening to dart to the basket. Huerter took a swipe and was called for the foul as the ball dropped through the hoop.

Williams flexed his arms before knocking down the free throw.
