-

We regretfully announce the passing of Celia Monteiro Jorge formerly of Orange, Connecticut on November 27, 2021. Celia was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully. Our mother, Celia, was one of the strongest, dedicated, selfless and loving women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Celia moved to Portugal where she met the love of her life, her spouse, Germano Jorge. Together they traveled to live in Africa and later settled in the United States to raise their family. Celia was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. Celia was predeceased by her parents, João and Mariana Alves, her loving husband of more than 50 years, Germano Jorge, and her two brothers, Flavio Alves and Jose Alves. She is survived by her three children, João Duarte Jorge and his wife Maria (Gina) Jorge, Richard Alves Jorge and his wife Terri Ann Jorge, and Anabela Nowlin, her brother Augusto Alves, her eight grandchildren- Shaun Paikai, Scott Paikai, Jessica Jorge Nichols, Kristina Jorge Horblitt, Jennifer Jorge Kyer, Kaitlyn Jorge Czepiga, Stephanie Jorge Tomerlin and John Camara Jorge. Also, her thirteen greatgrandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to the Willows of Woodbridge staff and Compasses Hospice for your loving care and support provided to Celia and her family.
