Shirley Zagorski
Shirley Ann Zagorski, 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Louisville Kentucky with her family by her side. Shirley was born September 25, 1936 in Burlington, Iowa, to Howard and Cleo Griffith. She was a devoted wife to Stan Zagorski for over 60 years, a loving mother to her children, and a dear friend to many. She always valued her friendships and maintained contact with friends all the way back to kindergarten throughout her moves over the years. Stan’s work at GE took them to Morrison Illinois, Louisville Kentucky, and Trumbull Connecticut. She was an avid reader and world traveler. Her love for travel brought her to the Travel industry where she worked as a travel agent for several years and eventually owned and managed 2 travel agencies while also teaching at a local university in Connecticut. This passion allowed her to travel to many locations throughout the world including Bangkok, Thailand, Cairo Egypt, Bali, Argentina, Alaska, China, Yugoslavia, Bhutan, Easter Island, and many other locations. She always said her favorite place was Bali. She lived in Trumbull, Connecticut for 38 years and had returned to Louisville, KY in 2012. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her children Greg Zagorski (Rita), Steve Zagorski, Chris Zagorski (Sonya) and Stacey Maiocco (Rich), her stepsister Nancy Steege (Dan), grandchildren Nicholas Zagorski (Mary), Gillian Zagorski, Spencer Zagorski, Gari Zagorski, Lindsey Zagorski Latimer (Andrew), Lisa Zagorski, Vincent Zagorski, Samantha Maiocco, Anna Maiocco, and Joseph Maiocco, nieces Christina Leffler and Sandy Zagorski and Nephew Bernie Zagorski.
