Laura (Marazzi) DeFelice, age 96, entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2022, at Gardner Heights H.C. in Shelton, with her daughter by her side. She was the beloved wife of sixty-three years to the late Carmen J. “Rip” DeFelice Sr. Mrs. DeFelice was born in Ansonia on November 27, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Angela Montovani Marazzi. Laura graduated from Ansonia High School in 1943 and went on to attend Bellevue Hospital of Nursing in NYC, earning her degree from New York University. She practiced her profession for fifty years with compassion and dedication. Laura was a devout communican­t of Saint Mary’s Church in Derby and a member of their Ladies Guild. Laura and her late husband Carmen loved to dance and were avid sports fans. Laura leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, April Callaghan (Kevin), daughter-in-law, Karen DeFelice, cherished grandchild­ren, Shannon, Brendan, Kristen and Tiffany, great grandchild­ren, Kaylee, Eli, Carmen (CJ), Mikey and Maggie along with many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by a son, Carmen J. DeFelice Jr., sisters, Olga Cappetta, Beatrice Cadoret, Neda Margiano

and Frances Presutto and brothers, Al, Reno and Leonard Marazzi. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 9:40 am, her funeral will proceed to Saint Mary’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will immediatel­y follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
