Laura Helen Pagliaro, 92, passed peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 2, 1930, to Frank and Maria (Sabatini) Pagliaro. For the past seven years, Laura was a resident of Maplewood Senior Living in Newtown, CT. Before moving to Newtown, she lived in Pleasantvi­lle, NY, for 43 years and in Brooklyn, NY, for 42 years. After graduating from St. Brendan’s High School, she worked as an executive secretary for Farrell Lines. In the 1970s and 1980s, she worked as an assistant librarian at Briarcliff Manor High School and in the registrar’s office at Pace University. In 1954 Laura was introduced to Pasquale (Patsy) Pagliaro, a second cousin newly arrived from Sulmona, Italy. Laura and Patsy were married a year later and enjoyed 60 loving years together until his death in 2015. She was an avid mystery reader and word puzzle solver, and she and Patsy traveled extensivel­y in their later years. Laura is survived by her son, Frank and his wife Jeanine; son, Mark and his husband Bruiser; grandchild­ren, Matthew (Claire), Allison (Charly), and Amy (Michael); and great-grandchild­ren, Juliette and Calvin. She was predecease­d by her sister, Dora Bindas. The family would like to thank the staff of Maplewood at Newtown and the staff of Danbury Hospital for their loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Notre Dame of Easton Parish in Easton, CT. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Redgate Hennessy Funeral Directors, Trumbull, CT, have been entrusted with the arrangemen­ts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Laura’s name to either the Notre Dame of Easton Sanctuary Fund or the Easton Public Library.
