GIRLS LACROSSE: TOP PERFORMANC­ES FROM THE CIAC TOURNAMENT­S

Kiera Best, Staples: The sophomore broke a school record for points in a game with 10 during the Wreckers’ 18-3 win over Stratford/Bunnell. Best had three goals and seven assists.

Keana Criscuolo, North Branford: The sophomore provided a dramatic finish to North Branford’s first-round game, netting the tying goal with 22.7 seconds remaining, and the winner with 0.7 on the clock for a 11-10 over Tolland.

Hannah Cross, Weston: The sophomore scored four goals to lead the Trojans’ attack during an 11-10 loss to New Fairfield in the Class S semis.

McKenzie Didio, Staples: During the Class L tournament, Didio, a senior, broke the Staples’ record for goals in a season with 69.

Maddie Epke, Guilford: The senior collected seven points with three goals and four assists and had 19 self draw wins to help lead the Grizzlies to their second straight Class M championsh­ip 12-8 over St. Joseph on Saturday.

Ryan Hapgood, Darien: The junior led the Blue Wave’s scoring with four goals in a 14-13 loss to New Canaan in the Class L final on Saturday.

Kaleigh Harden, New Canaan: The senior came up big on the draw in the CIAC Class L final, helping the Rams defeat Darien 14-13 for a state title on Saturday. She collected seven draw controls in the final, including one with 1:13 remaining to seal the win.

Meghan Hoynes, St. Joseph: Hoynes, a sophomore, had a hat trick and two assists to lead the Cadets’ attack in a 12-8 loss to Guilford in the Class M final.

Braeden LeBeau, North Branford: The senior had seven goals and two assists in North Branford’s 15-13 quarterfin­al loss to Old Saybrook..

Jayna MacKenzie, Sheehan: The senior topped the century mark with her 101st goal during .the Titans’ 16-7 quarterfin­al loss to Masuk

Molly McGuckin, Darien: The senior had six goals and one assist in the final two rounds of the Class L playoffs, including a team-high four goals in a 13-3 win over Wilton in the semis.

Charlotte Michener, Lauralton Hall:

Michener, a sophomore, scored four goals and dished out one assist to

help Lauralton Hall reach its first state final with a 9-8 win over Old Saybrook 9-8 in the Class S semis.

Stella Nolan, New Canaan: The junior led New Canaan’s attack with four goals and one assist in its state final win over rival Darien.

Dillyn Patten, New Canaan: Patten, a senior, had seven goals, one assist, and 12 draw controls in the final two rounds of the Class L tournament. Her performanc­e included five goals and five draw controls in a semifinal win over Ridgefield.

Ava Romanello, New Fairfield: The senior scored eight goals and dished out five assists in the final two rounds of the CIAC Class S tournament. She

scored four goals in each game, and also had three assists in the final, won by the Rebels 16-1 over Lauralton Hall on Saturday.

Brenna Romanello, New Fairfield: The freshman scored two goals, including the game-winner on a free position with one second remaining, as the Rebels defeated Weston 11-10 in the Class S semifinals.

Payton Root, Guilford: The sophomore scored a game-best five goals in the Grizzlies’ win over St. Joseph in the Class M final.

Sydney Widlitz, Guilford: The senior goalie made 10 saves to lead the Grizzlies’ defense in the Class M final.
