Celia (Cele) Capasso Catullo, age 101, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Angelo Catullo, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on January 10,1921, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Sanita Felicella Capasso. Cele was educated at Read School, Central High School, Butler Business School and the Warren Institute. She retired from the City of Bridgeport Board of Education as an administra­tive assistant, after 25 years of dedicated service. Cele sparked laughter in the office and her sense of humor and bright face was a delight to all of her coworkers. But above all things, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmothe­r. Affectiona­tely known as grammie/gram to all her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren, she will always be remembered for her famous Toll House and Italian cookies, as well as her meatballs. She was at her best at every holiday when the entire family was together creating memories and enjoying her special food and treats. The unconditio­nal love she gave will forever live in their hearts and Cele will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include her loving daughters, Diane LaBrecque and her husband William and Therese Buchla and her husband Bruce; five cherished grandchild­ren, Kimberly Rydelek (Greg), Audra Vitti (Jeff), Keith Donahue, Mark Catullo (Kari) and Ryan George (Annette); 11 greatgrand­children and one great-great-granddaugh­ter; a sister, Madlyn Karpinski; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by four brothers, Patrick, Anthony, John and Ralph Capasso; and two sisters, Palma Iodice and Virginia Cellini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Entombment will be private. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
