Janet Levi, age 92, of Bridgeport, passed away on February 3, 2023 at the Sunrise Senior Living facility in Fairfield. Born in New York City on October 17, 1930, she was the widow of her beloved husband Earl Levi, to whom she was married for more than 60 years. Mrs. Levi, who many affectiona­tely referred to as “Netty,” was the last surviving child of the late Max and Caroline Bauman of Bridgeport, having survived her brother David Bauman and her sisters Regina Silverman and Rosalind Goldberg.

Mrs. Levi was a dedicated career mother and homemaker, lavishing unconditio­nal love on everyone in her vast family. She was a Mah Jongg enthusiast, and loved her flowers. She and husband Earl enjoyed traveling and were always the center of attention on the dance floor. She worked for many years as a receptioni­st at the former JCC in Bridgeport, greeting everyone with a friendly face.

She is survived by her loving children Shelley Levi and her husband Kevin Sorhaindo of Bridgeport, CT, Gary Levi and his wife Karen of Medford NJ, Cindy Katz and her husband Gary of Stratford, CT, Judy Levi of Cleveland OH, Bruce Levi and his wife Elaine of Beacon Falls, CT, and Laura Levi and her husband David Baroff of Hilham, TN, her adoring grandchild­ren, Jenna Venditto and her husband Anthony, Jared Sorhaindo and his wife Samara Wright, Skyler Levi, Jonathan Katz and his wife Shoshana Wolf, Neil Katz and his wife Stacey, Byrne Katz Blumer and her husband Andrew Blumer, Dustin Levi and his wife Shannan, Trent Levi and his wife Megan, Mark Baroff, and Brian Baroff, her precious great-grandchild­ren, Noah, Ezra, Micah, Anthony,

Archer, Harper, Willow, Eli, Isla, and Autumn, and scores of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her cherished sister-in-law Mary Ann Levi, who became a true sister and best friend to her.

The family also would like to thank with deepest appreciati­on the attentive and empathetic caregivers who helped make their dear mother’s last months meaningful and pain-free, and her passing peaceful.

Services will take place on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11 am at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Rd., Fairfield, with a live stream available at www.greensfune­ralhome.com. Interment will follow at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Associatio­n Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will be sitting Shiva at the residence of Cindy and Gary Katz, Stratford, CT, Tuesday through Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. each evening.
