Theresa Sajda

Theresa Barbara Schorz Sajda, age 80 of Strafford, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Theresa was born on March 26, 1942 to Henry and Annette Schorz in Bridgeport. After Theresa graduated from Stratford High School in 1960, she met her future husband at the Ritz ballroom and then married Joseph Stanley Sajda on October 20,1960.

Teresa spent over 30 dedicated years volunteering for the Stratford EMS and teaching EMT certification courses. She has also worked in a pediatricians office, Bridgeport Hospital, emergency room, and as a clerk for many years for the Connecticut court system.

Theresa was predeceased by both her parents; her husband, Joseph Stanley, Sadja ; and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Landon. She is survived by her brother, Henry Schorz, and his wife, Kathleen of California; children, Joseph Sadja, III of Woodbury, Tamra Weeks, and her husband, Sean of Canton, Timothy Sadja, and his wife, Sarah of Florida and Nicholas Sadja and his wife, Mary of Stratford; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved dogs, Buddy and Annie.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2 to 5 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. A funeral service will take place at 4:15 pm, officiated by Rev. Rowena Kemp.
