Michael J. Napychank

-

Michael J. Napychank, age 101, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2023 at Wesley Heights, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband to Marie (Bablonka) Napychank for sixtysix years. He was born on November 2, 1921, in Shelton, son of the late Andrew and Michelina (Siergiej) Napychank. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 83rd Airdrop Squadron. He started his career as a payroll supervisor and worked for Sponge Rubber Products for twenty-six years and spent the last fifteen years of his career working in Inventory Control at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church and a lifetime member of Highland Golf Club, both of Shelton. Michael spent his life caring for those whom God put in his path: his family, neighbors, those he worked with, and those he just “did life” with. He looked for, and so he found the good in people. He enjoyed getting to know people, making people smile, and praying for people. He was in tune with what was happening around him. He wanted everyone to feel loved and to understand how special they were. He was a great man because he saw greatness in everything around him and brought out the best in everyone. In addition to his loving wife Marie, Michael is survived by his daughters Mary Sweeney,

Liz (Neil) Wyrick, Joan ( Joseph) Malay, and Ellen (Michael) Parrella, grandchildren, Liz (Sean) Philpott, Laura (Ryan) Tenio, Emily (Dan) Hall, Ben (Rebekah) Malay, and Ryan Sweeney, and great-grandchildren, Micheal, James, and Ben Philpott, Luke and Jack Hall, and Patrick Tenio. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Stephen Napychank. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Saturday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.riverviewfh.com.
