It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Ann (Pulaske) Nelson announces her passing on Feb. 6, 2023, at Maplewood of Orange, CT. May Ann was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 7, 1939, and has been a lifelong area resident. She spent her childhood in Bridgeport with her three sisters, Dorothy (deceased), Helen, and Mildred “Mitzy” (deceased). She graduated from Harding and St. John’s Commercial High School. Her high school yearbook quote captures the essence of her life, “A friendly smile and a happy face brightens up most any place.” Mary Ann worked many different jobs over her career. However, she retired after more than 20 years at Fairfield University, a community which she embraced and loved. In retirement, Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with family, friends, “Club” and her beloved husband, Donald A. Nelson Sr. (deceased). She loved to walk and was a part of the Milford Walkers for many years. She loved travelling, going out to eat, socializin­g with her countless friends, and going to Sunday Mass. With a zest for life, love and people, Mary Ann had a welcoming, hardy laugh and smile that filled any room.

She was predecease­d by her husband of 60 years and her eldest child, Anne Marie Dellamargg­io. Mary Ann is survived by three children, Donald A. Nelson, Jr. Jeffrey Nelson and Deborah Tyrrel; ten grandchild­ren, Adam, Elyse, Thomas, Jake, Emily, Rachael, Taylor, Ryan, Jeffrey, and Drew. and two great-granddaugh­ters, Vivian and Lennon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 18th at noon at Saint Mary’s Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford CT.
