Friends: Wilton man killed in NY crash ‘lived life to the fullest’
WILTON — A local man who was among four people killed in a crash on Long Island last month was remembered by friends as a loving husband and father.
Police said 55-year-old William Price was killed after the Tesla he was in was struck head-on by an SUV late on Feb. 17. The crash occurred on Route 25 in East Marion, a community of about 1,100 perched near the eastern tip of Long Island along the north shore.
“Will had a largerthan-life personality and lived life to the fullest,” a friend wrote on a crowdfunding page raising money to help the family. “He could be found fishing, crabbing, cheering for the Yankees, making memories with his boys, taking pictures, trying new cuisines and enjoying everything that is New York City.”
The fundraising page said Price was survived by his wife and two sons, ages 13 and 9.
The fundraiser has raised more than $32,000. The page’s organizer said the money will be used for day-to-day expenses as well as memorial costs and college savings.
Price was someone who “could find humor in anything and make those around him laugh out loud,” the page said.
“Will loved family and friends deeply and was a loyal, caring, affectionate husband, father, brother, son, uncle, co-worker and friend,” the page added.
Police said around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, Price was in a Tesla heading west on Route 25 in East Marion in the town of Southold when the car was struck head-on by a Ford Explorer. Price was killed along with the other occupant of the Tesla who police identified as 47-yearold Heath Miller.
The two occupants of the Ford were also killed in the collision, according to police. They were identified as 80-year-old Peter Smith and 66-year-old Patricia O’Neill, both residents of Brooklyn, N.Y.
