STAMFORD — A 22-year-old Trumbull man was sentenced to eight years in prison on Monday after he pleaded guilty to charges related to a 2023 incident where police say he rammed two Stamford police cruisers in a rented Dodge Challenger then fled the scene, leaving behind a stolen gun and drugs.

Judge Alex V. Hernandez sentenced Kevin Conley to eight years in prison, followed by five years of probation, in accordance with a disposition agreement reached by state prosecutors and his attorney, Stephen DeLeo, in February.

If Conley violates his probation following his release from prison, he could face up to an additional 10 years of incarceration under the agreement.

Conley’s father and multiple friends attended the sentencing hearing at the state Superior Court in Stamford. As Conley was led away in handcuffs by court marshals, his friends shouted words of support before being quieted by court staff.

Conley pleaded guilty in February to criminal possession of a pistol, stealing a firearm, sale of narcotics, first-degree larceny, engaging police in a pursuit, possession of narcotics and violation of probation.

Conley was arrested in June 2023, after eluding Stamford police multiple times following complaints of him speeding around the city.

Once officers spotted the Dodge Challenger that v Conley was driving, they attempted to box the car in. Conley fled after smashing the car into the two cruisers.

Officers were able to track him down and apprehend him about 150 yards from the scene, police said.

A search of the Challenger uncovered 50 grams of crack cocaine, more than $4,400 and a loaded stolen firearm, according to police.

Conley’s original charges include illegal possession of a pistol in a motor vehicle, possession with intent to sell narcotics, criminal possession of a pistol, stealing a firearm, interfering with police and operation of a drug factory.
