Rosa M Carralero, age 85, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Rosa was born in HolguinOri­ente, Cuba on October 7, 1938. Rosa was a longtime resident of Bridgeport until 2006 when she joined the community of Beacon Falls. In 2021 she moved to Oxford.

Rosa worked for over 40 years at St Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, first as an emergency room secretary and then in their family health clinic.

Rosa enjoyed gardening, loved her plants, loved to read and do her word search puzzles and watching every Hallmark channel available.

Rosa loved nothing more than being around her family. She worshipped her grandchild­ren and she adored her great-grandchild­ren.

Her loving family includes her son Marco A. Carralero of Oxford, her daughter and son-in-law Maria T. and Luis Rodriguez of Milford and her daughter-in-law Paula Carralero of Myrtle Beach, SC. Her grandchild­ren Rebecca, Luis and spouse Christina, Dan and spouse Kristine, Matthew and fiancée Zoey, Kelsie and spouse John, Kaelyn and spouse Mike, Marlow, Noah and fiancée Jade and Mason and her great-grandchild­ren DJ, Hunter, Ilse, Lorraine and Dean. Rosa was predecease­d by her husband, Medardo N. Carralero and her son, Mario C. Carralero. The family would also like to acknowledg­e 2 very dear friends that my mother loved and that loved my mother: Leona Mihalko and Lucia Kiesiel. Thank you for your love, your friendship and your caring.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her but will remain forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Service in Celebratio­n of Rosa’s life will be held at the Miller-Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., with the Reverend Joy Jacob, SDB, Pastor of St. Michael RC Church, officiatin­g. Interment will be private at the convenienc­e of the family.
