Decorate for the season by keeping close what you love and admire.

- BY ANNE BRINK

As autumn settles in and winter approaches, many days feel cooler and crisper. But are you wondering how you’ll add cozy warmth to your home in beautiful and timeless style?

A good place to start is with the practical and pretty handmade home goods from Jacque Ann Décor. These quilts, pillows and table linens are accent pieces that fit easily into your décor for added pops of color and instant room updates.

Artist and shop owner Jacque Ann Ford prefers to use natural fibers. She says, “My products are made with 100% pure premium cotton and are easy-care and machine washable. I strive to create quality, timeless designs that mix well with vintage finds and modern schemes alike.”

VINTAGE-STYLE AESTHETIC

Jacque Ann started her business in 2012 when her two daughters reached high school age. She was ready to return to work and didn’t want to spend her days in an office cubicle. Now she crafts her beautiful pieces in her home sewing studio in southwest Missouri’s Ozark region. “I find happiness in designing and creating home décor accessories,” she says.

Nostalgic memories of her grandmother and great-aunts are a major source of inspiration too. Jacque Ann elaborates: “They were extraordinary women, who endured the Great Depression. They intuitively had the skill set to produce, preserve and prepare their own food. They sewed and crocheted their own garments and home accessories. ”Today she is moved as a maker to create quilts, pillows and table linens in much the same way her female relatives did in the past, but now to decorate her home and yours.

AN ARTFUL VINTAGE VIBE

Looking to bring home an easy, attractive vintage look? Handmade quilts, pillows and table linens can infuse a space with unique patterns and personality. Layering table runners in assorted colors and sizes helps create warm, comfortable gathering areas for welcoming family and friends.

“A vintage vibe comes through in my products,” says Jacque Ann, “with the use of color, reproduction fabrics and period quilt patterns. I am intrigued by period quilts and can spend hours studying the fabrics, colors and shapes used in their construction .” These concepts then find their way into her designs.

And when her pieces find their way into your home, you’ll adore the colors, patterns, and warm, natural feel they bring to your décor. Their classic inspiration and timeless look will help infuse your home with all you love and admire, and a few nostalgic memories too.
