This cabinet in Kathy and Clark Wilke’s Osmond, Nebraska, home is Kathy’s go-to spot for holiday-themed decor, such as her patriotic treasures that honor family members. “My grandfathers, one with five children at home and the other with 16 children, enlisted in World War II because they wanted to help their country,” she remarks. “After a flood, I had to start all over because most of my decorations were destroyed. I found joy in going to garage sales and looking at Country Sampler for inspiration. My husband’s favorite joke is, ‘ Where did that piece migrate to?’ Thank you for all you do. I can spend hours and days looking for ideas in your magazine. Ask my husband.”

“I’ve been a follower of Country Sampler for years,” says country enthusiast Sandi Meece of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Recently, she reinvented an old bicycle wheel by adding faux greenery and blooms. “In my decorator stylings, I’ve always felt a sprig of floral enhances anything,” she comments.

Nadia Carberry shares her excitement about moving into a new house, which her husband finished building in 2020. It wasn’t complete until they built a chicken coop, entertainment for their three boys. “I always love to look through Country Sampler magazine to get ideas for our home,” the Germantown, Ohio, resident explains. “As the only female in the house, I wanted a feminine cottage coop for our hens. I knew I wanted to accent it in my favorite aqua green colors,” Nadia relates, noting the gazing ball was her late mother’s and the screen door is vintage.
