Motif Medley Table Runner
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-5 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain-2 unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. When joining Fill-In Motifs to each other and to larger Motifs, work slip stitch over sc of round 5 into chain space of round 3 so they will lock together. If they aren’t worked this way they will pull apart when the piece is stretched.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Beginning shell (beg shell): ( Ch 3— see Pattern Notes, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated st or sp. Shell: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated st or sp.
TABLE RUNNER FIRST MOTIF ROW Motif 1
Rnd 1 (RS): With orchid pink, ch 8, join (see Pattern Notes) to form a ring, ch 5 (see Pattern Notes), dc in ring, [ch 2, dc in ring] 10 times, ch 2, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. Fasten off. (12 ch-2 sps, 12 dc)
Rnd 2: Join French rose in any ch-2 sp, beg shell (see Special Stitches), sc in next ch-2 sp, [ shell (see Special Stitches) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp] around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off. (6 shells, 6 sc)
Rnd 3: Join mint green in any ch-2 sp of shell, beg shell in same ch-2 sp, ch 3, [shell in next ch-2 sp of shell, ch 3] around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off. (6 shells, 6 ch-3 sps)
Rnd 4: Join French rose in any ch-2 sp of shell, beg shell in same ch-2 sp, ch 5, [shell in next ch-2 sp of next shell, ch 5] around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off. (6 shells, 6 ch-5 sps)
Rnd 5: Join orchid pink in any ch-2 sp of shell, beg shell in same ch-2 sp, *ch 5, sc around 2 ch sps directly below from previous 2 rnds, ch 5**, shell in next ch-2 sp of shell, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off.
Motif 2

Rnd 5: Join orchid pink in any ch-2 sp of shell, beg shell in same ch-2 sp, [ch 5, sc around 2 ch sps directly below from previous 2 rnds, ch 5, (3 dc in next ch-2 sp of shell, ch 1, sl st in any ch-2 sp on adjacent shell on Motif 1, ch 1, 3 dc) in same ch-2 sp of shell on working Motif], rep between [ ] once with 2nd joining in next shell to left to same previous Motif, *ch 5, sc around 2 ch sps directly below from previous 2 rnds, ch 5**, shell in next ch-2 sp of shell, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Motifs 3–15
Work and join these Motifs in the 2 shell sps on opposite end of Motif from where previous Motif was joined to make a strip working the same way that Motif 2 was worked and joined for remainder of row.

Rnd 5: Join orchid pink in any ch-2 sp of shell, ch 3, 2 dc in same ch-2 sp of shell, ch 1, sl st in ch-2 sp of side shell of Motif 1 on previous row of Motifs, ch 1, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp on working Motif, *ch 5, sc around 2 ch lps of previous rnds directly below, ch 5**, shell in next ch-2 sp of shell, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off.
