Some of you may remember using a little handheld loom to weave small squares that were then joined together to make clothing and items for the home. Many companies have produced a variation of the loom as far back as the early 1930s. However, the older looms are hard to find and fragile, making them difficult to use. Fortunately, Schacht Spindle Co., makers of quality looms for hand weavers, has developed an easy-to-use little handheld loom. The molded plastic loom comes in a box with a long weaving needle, a tapestry needle to sew squares together and an extra replacement pin for the loom. An instruction booklet is also included, but the loom also has directional prompts stamped right into the plastic, so you don’t have to keep referring to the booklet. You can quickly weave a 4-inch square using all sorts of yarns to create fun projects that all ages will enjoy making.
