• Medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn: 364 yds main color 1–2 oz each of 45 as­sorted col­ors • Size H/8/5mm cro­chet hook or size needed to ob­tain gauge • Ta­pes­try nee­dle

GAUGE

3 sc = 1 inch; 3 rows = 1 inch

PAT­TERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. In 2-color rows, work with new col­ors that dif­fer from pre­vi­ous rows un­less oth­er­wise stated. Drop and work over color not in use on wrong side un­til next needed. Carry same color yarn used on al­ter­nate rows up wrong side of rows. Where in­di­cated, fol­low Charts for stitch­ing se­quence. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.

AFGHAN

Row 1 (RS): Ch 152 in main color. Dc in the 3rd ch from hook (beg 2 sk chs count as first dc) and in each ch across, change color (see Stitch Guide) in last st to new color, turn. (150 dc) Row 2 (WS): Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change color to main color, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, dc in each st across, change to first of 2 new col­ors. Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sts, * drop­ping first color

(see Pat­tern Notes), change color in last st made to 2nd color, sc in next 3 sts, drop­ping 2nd color, change color to first color, sc in next 3 sts, rep from * across, turn.

Row 6: Rep row 5, drop first and 2nd col­ors to WS (see Pat­tern Notes), turn. Row 7: Ch 1, dc in each st across, change color to first dropped color of row 6, pick up 2nd dropped color, turn. Rows 8 & 9: Rep row 5, change color to main color and cut­ting cur­rent col­ors at end of last row. Row 10: Rep row 4. Rows 11–15: Fol­low­ing Chart A (see illustration) for color changes, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Change color to main color at end of row 15 and cut cur­rent col­ors. Row 16: Rep row 4.

Rows 17 & 18: Rep rows 5 and 6. Row 19: Rep row 2, change color to new color. Row 20: Rep row 2, change color to first dropped color of row 18. Pick up 2nd dropped color of row 6. Rows 21 & 22: Rep rows 8 and 9. Row 23: Rep row 4. Note: In rows 24–26, change color as needed at ends of rows so stitch­ing con­forms to Chart. Rows 24–26: Fol­low­ing Chart B (see illustration) for color changes, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Change color to main color at end of row and cut cur­rent col­ors. Row 27: Rep row 4, change color to new color.
