Row 28: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 29–31: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, *dropping first color, change color to 2nd color, sc in next 2 sts, dropping 2nd color, change color to first color, sc in next 2 sts, rep from * across, turn. Cut 2nd color at end of row 31.

Rows 32 & 33: Rep rows 3 and 4.

Row 34: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sts, *dropping first color, change color in last st made to 2nd color, sc in next st, dropping 2nd color, change color to first color, sc in next 4 sts, rep from * across, turn.

Row 35: Rep row 34, change color to new color and drop first and 2nd colors to WS, turn.

Rows 36 & 37: Rep row 2, change color to first dropped color of row 35 at end of row 37. Pick up 2nd dropped color of row 35. Rows 38 & 39: Rep row 34, change color to main color and cutting current colors at end of row 39. Row 40: Rep row 4. Rows 41–47: Following Chart C (see illustration) for color changes, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Change color to main color at end of row 47. Row 48: Rep row 4. Row 49: Rep row 2, change to new color. Row 50: Ch 1, sk first st, dc in next st, dc in sk st, *sk 1 st, dc in next st, then dc in sk st (cross dc), rep from * across, change color to new color, turn. Rows 51 & 52: Rep rows 3 and 4.

Row 53: Rep row 29, change color to new color. Rows 54 & 55: Rep row 2, change color to new color at end of row 55.

Rows 56 & 57: With new color, rep row 2, change color to same color as row 54 at end of row 57.

Change color to main color at end of row 75. Cut current colors. Row 76: Rep row 4. Row 77: Rep row 53.

Rows 78 & 79: Rep row 2, change color at end of last row to same first color as row 77.

Row 80: With same colors as row 77, rep row 29, change color to main color and cut current colors. Row 81: Rep row 4. Row 82: Ch 1, with first of 5 new colors, sc in each st across, dropping and changing each color once in blocks of uneven numbers of sts, turn.

Rows 83 & 84: Ch 1, sc in each st across, dropping and changing colors to match sts of previous rows, turn. Change color to new color and cut current colors at end of row 84.

Rows 85 & 86: Ch 1, sc in first st, sk 1 st, *work 3 sc in next st**, sk 2 sts, rep from * across, ending last rep at **, sk 1 st, sc in last st, change color to new color, turn. Rows 87–89: Rep rows 2–4. Row 90: Rep row 2. Rows 91 & 92: Ch 3, dc in each st across, turn. Row 93: Rep row 2. Row 94: Rep row 91. Fasten off.

FINISHING Edging

Rnd 1 (RS): With RS facing,

join (see Pattern Notes) new color in any st of row 94, ch 1, dc in same st as join and in each st and end of row around, working 3 dc in each corner, join in top of beg ch-3.

Rnds 2 & 3: Ch 1, dc in same st as join and in each st around, working 3 dc in center st of each 3-dc group, join in top of beg ch-3. Fasten off at end of rnd 3.
