Row 1 (RS): Ch 3, 8 [9, 9, 10, 10] [10, 10, 11, 11] dc across Right Front, 25 [25, 27, 27, 29] [29, 31, 31, 31] dc across Back, 9 [10, 10, 11, 11] [11, 11, 12, 12] dc across Left Front, turn. (43 [45, 47, 49, 51] [51, 53, 53, 55] dc) Row 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, [dc in next st, sc in next st] across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, [sc in next st, dc in next st] across, turn. Rep rows 2 and 3 until Hood measures 12 [121/2, 121/2, 13, 13] [131/2, 131/2, 14, 14] inches. Fasten off.

Fold last row of Hood in half and sew tog across.

Hood Ribbed Edging

Join in first st right after sk sts in the center of Front piece.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 3, 46 [47, 48, 50, 51] [52, 53, 55, 56] dc evenly up along side neck opening and to seam at center top of Hood, 46 [47, 48, 50, 51] [52, 53, 55, 56] dc evenly down along the other side of Hood and neck opening ending in last st before the sk sts, turn. (93 [95, 97, 101, 103] [105, 107, 111, 113] dc) Row 2: Ch 3, [bpdc in next st, dc in next st] across, working last dc in top of beg ch-3, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, [fpdc in next st, dc in next st] across, working last dc in top of beg ch-3.

Rows 4 & 5: Rep rows 2 and 3. At the end of last rep, fasten off. Lay the front edges overlapping each other mid front and sew to center sk sts.

ARMHOLE EDGING

Join in edge at center bottom of Armhole.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 28 [30, 32, 34, 36] [37, 38, 39, 40] dc evenly up along edge up to shoulder seam, 29 [31, 33, 35, 37] [38, 39, 40, 41] dc evenly down along edge to bottom of Armhole, join in ch-3 at beg of rnd. (58 [62, 66, 70, 74] [76, 78, 80, 82] dc)

Rnds 2–5: Ch 3, [fpdc in next st, dc in next st] around to last st, fpdc in last st, join in beg ch-3. At end of rnd 5, fasten off. Rep rnds 1–5 on opposite Armhole opening.
