PAT­TERN NOTES

Body is worked in Strips up to arm­holes, beginning at bot­tom of jacket. Fronts and Back are then worked sep­a­rately with Shoul­ders worked last, join­ing Fronts to Back. Do not turn at ends of rounds. Chain-3 at beginning of rounds counts as first dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated. Join with slip stitch un­less oth­er­wise stated.

SPE­CIAL STITCHES

Place slip knot on hook, in­sert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook. Pi­cot: Ch 6, sl st in first ch. FIN­ISH­ING OR ASSEM­BLY

Im­merse the piece in cool wa­ter, squeeze out ex­cess wa­ter, tak­ing care not to wring or twist. Place the piece on a flat, cov­ered sur­face, gen­tly stretch to open lace pat­tern and block to measurements. Leave un­til com­pletely dry.

In cel­e­bra­tion of our 40th an­niver­sary, we restitched this project which orig­i­nally ap­peared in the Au­gust 1995 is­sue as a swim­suit cover-up. Still a great de­sign, it is equally stylish paired with jeans and a top or a pretty flo­ral dress!
