Crochet World - - First Row -

As each season unfolds, I am always amazed how my crochet projects reflect the time of year and what is going on in my life. During the last days of spring and as summer approaches, I spend more time outdoors gardening and traveling, but that doesn’t mean I put my crochet hooks away! Not at all! It just means I take my projects with me and enjoy crocheting outdoors! I hope this issue will inspire you to take your crochet along with you as you enjoy the warmer weather. Choose from one of the smaller projects in this issue, such as the All Squares Dishcloth Set, our Beginner’s Luck feature. Make some pretty Pastel Pot Holders and use up your size 10 crochet thread. Or add a fun touch to your summer wardrobe with the adorable Oh Snap! Flowers.

In the Lighten Up! chapter you’ll find five fabulous fashion accessories that will add a pop of color to your summer outfits. I especially love the Moebius Wrap in brilliant blues, which is perfect for cool summer evenings. The Openwork Cardi is on my “to do” list; everyone needs a cardigan like this to round out their warmweather wardrobe. And the Seashell Scarf is another must-make!

In Summertime Crochet we feature several fun projects perfect for the home and entertaining. Make up a bunch of our Totally Tubular Coasters for your next outdoor get-together for a fun touch. Crocheted to mimic pool floats in the shape of a rubber duck and pink flamingo, they are sure be a conversation starter! Crochet a set of the Floral Napkin Rings to add a summery touch to your table. The Turtle Shell Game based on the age-old game of chance is sure to be popular with kids and adults alike. Who could resist playing with these cute turtles looking for the hidden goldfish?

In our Features section, we’ve included 2 colorful throws, a set of nesting baskets and a stunning doily. With over 20 projects in this issue, we’re sure your summer will be filled with crochet!

And don’t forget to look for this issue’s giveaway as we continue to celebrate 40 years of Crochet World!

Happy Crocheting!
