LONG HANGER

Row 1: With white, ch 4, dc in 3rd ch from hook (2 sk chs

count as first dc), dc in next ch,

turn. (3 dc)

Rows 2–72: Ch 2, dc in next dc, dc in top of beg ch-2, turn.

Row 73 (seam): Taking care not to twist, hold rows 1 and 72 tog, ch 1, working through both thicknesse­s, sl st in each st. Fasten off.

SHORT HANGER

Leaving a long tail at each end for sewing, work same as rows 1–36 of Long Hanger. Fasten off at end of row 36.

FINISHING

Lay Basket flat with opening centered in front. Position Long Hanger around flattened edges of Basket with seamed row centered across first rnd. Pin in place. With a length of white and working from bottom up and along the sides of Basket to rnd 42, sew each long edge of Long Hanger to Basket. Sew rows closest to rnd 42 tog to create a hanging lp. With a length of white, sew 1 end of Short Hanger to back side edge of hanging lp, sew other end to back side edge of seamed row at rnd 1, then sew each edge of Short Hanger to Basket.
