AFRICAN BUTTERFLY

BODY & WINGS

Rnd 1: With coral, ch 5, join

(see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, ch 3 (see Pattern

Notes), 7 dc in ring, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (8 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 3, sc) in first st, sc in next st, [(sc, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 3, sc) in next st, sc in next st] 3 times, join in first sc. Fasten off.

Trim

Rnd 1: Join purple in sc between any Wing, ch 1, sc in same sc, sc in each sc, dc and ch around outer edge working (sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch-2 at point of each Wing, join in beg sc. Fasten off.

ANTENNAE

Working between 2 Wings at top, join purple, [ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next 3 chs, sl st in same st on Body] twice. Fasten off.

BODY CENTER

Rnd 1: With purple, ch 3, join in first ch to form a ring, ch 1, 4 sc in ring, do not join.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, join in first sc, leaving a length of purple, fasten off. Weave rem length through sts of rnd 2, pull to close to form a ball, sew to center top of Butterfly over beg of Body.

AMAZONIAN BUTTERFLY

BODY & ANTENNAE

Rnd 1: With peacock, ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 chs, hdc in each of next 4 chs, 3 hdc in last ch, working on opposite side of foundation ch, hdc in each of next 4 chs, sc in next 5 chs, sc in same ch as first sc, [ch 6, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in each of next 3 chs, sl st in same sc as beg of Antennae] twice, fasten off.

UPPER WING

Row 1: On side of Body, join

(see Pattern Notes) peacock in 4th st down from top, ch 10, tr in 5th ch from hook (sk 4 chs

count as first tr), tr in next ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in Body, turn.

Row 2: Sc in sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 dc, tr in each of next 3 tr, turn.

Row 3: Ch 4 (see Pattern Notes), tr in each of next 2 tr, dc in each of next 2 dc, hdc in next hdc, sc in next sc, sl st in body, turn.

Row 4: Sc in sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 dc, tr in each of next 3 tr. Fasten off. Rep on opposite side of Body.

LOWER WING

Row 1: Join peacock in next free st below Upper Wing of Body, ch 10, tr in 5th ch from hook, tr in next ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in same st on body, turn.

Row 2: Sc in sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in each of next 2 dc, tr in each of next 3 tr. Fasten off. Rep on opposite side of Body.

Wing Trim

Rnd 1: Join blue Hawaii in Lower Wing next to Body, ch 1, [sc in each st across side edge of Wing, working (sc, ch 3, sc) in outer corner of Wing, then working across end of Wing, work sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc, (sc,

ch 3, sc) in outer corner st of Wing, sc in each st across side edge of Wing], rep between [ ] around outer edge of each rem Wing. Fasten off.

Wing Tip

Working in each of the 4 ch-3 sps on the Upper Wings only, join aqua in ch-3 sp, work 4 sc in ch-3 sp. Fasten off.

Body Trim

Join aqua in any sc of Body, sc in each st of Body; join in first sc. Fasten off.

SPIDER MUM FLOWER

BASE

Rnd 1: With pink, ch 4, join (see

Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, 8 sc in ring, join in first sc. (8 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, join in first sc. (16 sc)

Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, ch 12, sc in next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 12, sc in next sc] 7 times, join in first sc. Fasten off.

PETALS

Rnd 1: Join rose in Base between ch-12 sps, (9 sc, ch 4, 9 sc) in ch-12 sp, sl st in sp between ch-12 sps, [(9 sc, ch 4, 9 sc) in next ch-12 sp, sl st in sp between ch-12 sps] around. Fasten off.

LAPIS BLUE NILE FLOWER

CENTER
