Hairpin Lace Shawl
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Shawl consists of 48 Motifs arranged in 4 rows of 12 Motifs each. Ends of hairpin strips are woven together after inside and outside edges are completed. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL TECHNIQUE
Hairpin lace strip: Adjust loom to 2 inches wide. Leaving 4-inch length of yarn, with crochet hook, make a slip knot
(see illustration on page 59), slide slip knot off hook and onto right-hand prong of loom. Holding assembled loom center slip knot between prongs. Holding yarn in left hand, turn loom from right to left so that yarn passes behind both prongs and slip knot is on opposite prong (1). Insert crochet hook under front and over back of slip knot (2), yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through lp on hook (3). *Turn loom from right to left and sc in newColor speci cations:lp in the same manner

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, ch 1, [sc in next tr, ch 1] around, join in beg sc. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Dampen and block Shawl to measurements, stretching slightly so that joins lay flat.
