• Berroco Weekend DK light (DK) weight acrylic/cotton yarn (31/2 oz/268 yds/100g per skein): 3 [3, 4] skeins

#2983 cottage 1 [1, 2] skein(s) #2926 clotheslin­e • Sizes G/6/4mm and H/8/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge • Stitch markers GAUGE

Size G hook: 20 sc = 4 inches; 16 sc in back lp rows = 4 inches; 24 sc rows = 4 inches Take time to check gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Blocking is crucial. Lace Wedges will not lie flat without blocking.

Next 8 [8, 10] rows: Ch 1, sc across, turn. In last st of last row, change color to clotheslin­e.

Assembly

Seam shoulders tog using invisible seam. For a higher armhole count 32 [32, 40] rows from bottom of Front and Back sides and mark with stitch marker. For a lower armhole, count 28 [28, 34] rows from bottom of Front and Back and mark with stitch marker. Seam Front and Back tog using invisible seam.

LACE WEDGE

Row 1 (RS): With RS facing and size H hook, join clotheslin­e to base of V-shaped opening in side of skirt, ch 3 (see Pattern

Notes), join to 3rd sc on right side of opening, 3 dc in same sp as join, join to 3rd sc on left side of opening. (1 4-dc group) Row 2 (WS): Ch 3, sk next 2 unworked sc on same side of opening as last join, join in next sc, turn, ch 2, dc in join at top of beg ch-3 on opposite side, sk next 2 unworked sc on same side of opening, join in next sc. (1 ch-2 sp)

Row 3: Ch 3, sk next 2 unworked sc on same side of opening as last join, join in next sc, turn, 3 dc in same join as beg ch-3, sc in next ch-2 sp, 4 dc in join at top of beg ch-3 on opposite side, sk next 2 unworked sc on side of opening, join in next sc.
