MATERIALS

• Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (31/2 oz/180 yds/100g per skein): 3 skeins #302 white glow 1 skein each #338 living green, #339 purple panic, #340 hot magenta, #341 glowing orange and #343 electric blue • Size H/8/5mm crochet hook or

size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle • 18-inch square pillow form

GAUGE

15 sts = 4 inches; 13 rows = 3 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES Double loop stitch (dlp st):

Insert hook in indicated st, wrap yarn loosely twice around index finger allowing last strand to hang down, insert hook from left to right under 2 strands and pull up 2 lps (3 lps on hook), yo and pull through all 3 lps. Each lp should measure about 1/2 inch long.

Single crochet join (sc join):

Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

COLOR SEQUENCE

Rows 20–22: Magenta. Rows 32–34: Green. Rows 44–46: Orange. Rows 56–57: Blue. Rows 68–70: Purple.

FRONT/BACK PANEL

Make 2. Row 1 (RS): With white, ch 67, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (66 sc) Row 2: Working in back lps (see Stitch Guide), ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. Rows 3–7: Rep row 2, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to purple in last sc of row 7. Row 8: Ch 1, working in back lps, sc in first sc, dlp st (see Special Stitches) in each sc across to last sc, sc in last sc, turn. (2 sc, 64 dlp sts) Row 9: Rep row 2.

Row 10: Rep row 8, change color to white.

Rows 11–19: Rep row 2, changing color at end of last row to next color in Color Sequence.

Rows 20–79: [Rep rows 8–19 consecutiv­ely] 5 times, referring to Color Sequence for color changes, working unspecifie­d rows with white. At end of last row, fasten off.

FINISHING

Joining rnd: With WS held tog, matching rows of same color, and working through both lps of both thicknesse­s, sc join (see

Special Stitches) white in first st at top corner, 2 sc in same st, sc in each st across to last st, 3 sc in last st, *working in ends of rows, sc in each row across side edge*, working on opposite side of foundation ch, 3 sc in first ch, sc in each ch across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch, insert pillow form, rep between * once,

join (see Pattern Notes) in beg sc. Fasten off.
