• Berroco Vintage DK light (DK) weight acrylic/ wool/nylon (31/2 oz/290 yds/100g per hank): 3 [3,4, 4] hanks

#2105 oats • Sizes F/5/3.5mm and G/6/4mm crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge • Yarn needle

GAUGE

12 rows = 4 inches; 16 sts = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Cable is twisted every 3rd rightside row.

Cable twist: Sk next 3 tr, fpdtr

Row 1: With size G hook, ch 56 [60, 62, 66], dc in 4th ch from hook (3 sk chs count as first dc), dc in each rem ch across, turn. (54 [58, 60, 64] dc) Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, turn. Row 3: Ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), dc in each sc across, turn. Rows 4–29 [4–29, 4–33, 4–33]: [Rep rows 2 and 3 alternatel­y] 13 [13, 15, 15] times. Row 30 [30, 34, 34]: Rep row 2.

Armhole Shaping

SLEEVE

Make 2.

Row 1: With size G hook, ch 30 [30, 34, 34], dc in 4th ch from hook (3 sk chs count as first dc), dc in each ch across, turn. (28 [28, 32, 32] dc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in each of next 10 [10, 12, 12] sc, fptr around each of next 6 dc 2 rows below, dc in each of next 11 [11, 13, 13] sc, turn. (28 [28, 32, 32] sts) Row 4: Rep row 2. Row 5: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, dc in each of next 10 [10, 12, 12] sc, cable twist around next 6 sts, dc in each of next 10 [10, 12, 12] sc, 2 dc in last sc, turn. (30 [30, 34, 34] sts) Row 6: Rep row 2. Row 7: Inc 1 st at each beg and end of row, work dc in each sc and fptr around each of the 6 cable sts at center, turn. Continue working as for rows 2–7 maintainin­g center cable, inc 1 st each end of every RS row to 44 [42, 40, 40] sts, then every other RS row to 48 sts.

Continue even with no inc sts and maintainin­g center cable until Sleeve measures 13 [14, 15, 16] inches or desired length. Fasten off.

NECKLINE EDGING

Matching sts, sew with invisible seam (see illustrati­on) across each shoulder.

Invisible Seam

Rnd 1: With size F hook, join in first st after Right Shoulder seam, ch 3, dc 67 [67, 71, 71] sts evenly sp around neckline, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (68 [68, 72, 72] dc) Rnd 2: Ch 2, [ fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next dc, bpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next dc] around, join in 2nd ch of beg ch-2. Rnd 3: Ch 2, [fpdc around fpdc, bpdc around bpdc] around, join in 2nd ch of beg ch-2. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Fold Sleeve in half, sew into armhole opening, sew Sleeve and side seam of Sweater.

SLEEVE TRIM

Rnd 1: Join yarn in opposite side of foundation ch of Sleeve seam, ch 1, reverse sc (see

Stitch Guide) in each ch of foundation ch around, join in beg sc. Fasten off.
