PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Make 13 Flower Motifs with same color needed to work across the short end of a tea towel. Motifs are all joined as you go. For a larger or smaller piece, add or delete Motifs as needed. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-5 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet and chain 2 unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Beginning shell (beg shell): (Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated sp.
Shell: (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated sp.
MOTIF FIRST FLOWER MOTIF
Rnd 1 (RS): With red (lime or light mango), ch 6, join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form a ring, ch 5 (see Pattern Notes), [dc in ring, ch 2] 11 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. (12 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: Join white in any ch-2 sp, beg shell (see Special
Stitches) in same ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp, [ shell (see Special
Stitches) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp] 5 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off. (6 shells)
2ND–13TH FLOWER MOTIFS
Rnd 1: Rep rnd 1 of First Flower Motif.
Rnd 2: Join white in any ch-2 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, sl st in ch-2 sp of shell of previous Flower Motif, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp on working Flower Motif, sc in next ch-2 sp, [3 dc in next ch-2 sp, sl st in next ch-2 sp of shell of previous Flower Motif, 3 dc in same ch-2 sp] on working Flower Motif, sc in next sp, [shell in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp] 4 times, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off. (6 shells) Block Flower Motifs to measurements. With sewing needle and thread, sew Flower Motif strip points of the Motifs to short end of the towel.
