MATERIALS

• Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 364 yds/198g per skein): 1 skein #334 buff 7 yds #254

pumpkin 4 yds #336 warm

brown • Sizes G/6/4mm and H/8/5mm crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge • Tapestry needle

GAUGE

Size G hook: 17 sc = 4 inches; 20 rows = 4 inches

PATTERN NOTES

Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 at beginning of round counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Single crochet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up

a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook. Double crochet cluster (dc

cl): Yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook (2 lps on hook), [yo, insert hook in same st, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps] twice (4 lps on hook), yo, draw through all 4 lps on hook.

BASKET BASE

Row 1 (RS): With size G hook and buff, ch 22, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (21 sc)

Rows 2–33: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At end of last row, do not fasten off.

SIDES

Rnd 1 (RS): Now working in rnds, ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), dc in each of first 20 sc, 3 dc in next sc, *working in ends of rows, sk first row, dc in each of next 31 rows, 3 dc in last row*, working on opposite side of foundation ch, sk first ch, dc in each of next 19 chs, 3 dc in last ch, rep between * once, dc in same st as base of beg ch-3, join (see Pattern Notes) in top of beg ch-3. Make 2. Rnd 1 (RS): With size H hook and warm brown, ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hook (beg 3 sk chs count as first dc), join in top of beg ch-3. (12 dc) Rnd 2: Sc join (see Special Stitches) pumpkin in any dc, *ch 2, dc cl (see Special

Stitches) in next dc, ch 2**, sc in next dc, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in beg sc. Leaving 10-inch tail for sewing, fasten off. (6 sc, 6 dc cls)

FINISHING

Refer to photo for placement and sew 1 Flower to each long side of Basket.
