FINISHING
Cut cardboard piece, tape ends tog to form a 51/4-inch tube. Cover tube with plastic wrap. Blow up balloon to needed size, before knotting end, place crocheted piece over to check fit, remove crocheted piece and knot end of balloon. Soak crocheted piece in fabric stiffener, squeeze out excess and blot with paper towels. Cover balloon with plastic wrap and place crocheted piece over balloon, shaping evenly. Holding knotted end of balloon with fingers, insert tube in top of Shade to shape section to be placed over pendant light. Pulling knot above tube, secure knot with clothespin so that clothespin is holding tube in place on top of Shade. Cut a length of thread or yarn and secure to clothespin, hang Shade and allow to dry overnight. Remove balloon and tube. Brush excess stiffener from lace holes with stiff brush. Take collar ring off pendant light, insert socket through top opening of Shade. Return collar to light. Insert lightbulb (see Pattern Notes) in socket. CW
