Nice & Bright Throw

PATTERN NOTES

Blocks are joined together with a join-as-you-go technique. Refer to Placement Diagram for color and joining sequences. Hold adjacent Block with right side facing when joining. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Chain-2 and double crochet at end of round counts as last chain-4 space unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Double crochet join (dc join): Place a slip knot on hook, yo, insert hook in indicated st and pull up lp, [yo, pull through 2 lps] twice. Single crochet join (sc join): Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and draw up a lp, yo and pull through both lps on hook. Chain-7 join (ch-7 join): Ch 3, sl st in corresponding ch-7 sp of adjacent Block, ch 3. Chain-5 join (ch-5 join): Ch 2, sl st in corresponding ch-5 sp of adjacent Block, ch 2.

THROW BLOCK 1

Rnd 1 (RS): With first color, make a slip ring (see illustration), ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), (dc, [ch 4, 2 dc] 3 times) in ring, ch 2, dc (see Pat

tern Notes) in top of beg ch-3. Pull gently on beg tail to close ring. (8 dc, 4 ch-4 sps)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc around last dc, [ch 3, (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in next ch-4 sp] 3 times, ch 3, 2 dc in last ch-4 sp, ch 4, join (see Pattern Notes) in beg ch-3. Fasten off. (16 dc, 4 ch-3 sps, 4 ch-4 sps) Rnd 3: With RS facing, dc join (see Special Stitches) 2nd color in any ch-4 sp, dc in same sp, [dc in each of next 2 sts, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, dc in each of next 2 sts*, (2 dc, ch 4, 2 dc) in next ch-4 sp] 4 times, ending last rep at *, 2 dc in last ch-4 sp, ch 4, join in beg dc. (44 dc, 4 ch-4 sps) Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as base of ch-1, *[ch 4, sk next dc, sc in next dc] 5 times, ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 4**, sc in next dc, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in beg sc. Rnd 5 (1-edge join): With RS facing, sc join 3rd color in first ch-4 sp, (ch 5, sc) in each of next 5 ch-4 sps, ch-7 join (see Special Stitches), sc in next ch-4 sp, ( ch-5 join— see
