PATTERN NOTES
If using scrap yarn remnants, allow 2–3 yards for each row. Hold 2 strands together throughout unless otherwise stated. Refer to Color Sequences for each Square. Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Chain-2 at beginning of row or round counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Refer to Placement Diagram for placement of Squares and direction of rows. Slip stitch seams loosely to match gauge.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Horizontal half double crochet
(horizontal hdc): Working in front of indicated st, hdc in horizontal bar directly below top lps of indicated st.
Extended half double crochet
(ext hdc): Yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 1 lp on hook, yo, draw through 3 lps. Horizontal half double crochet in back bar (horizontal back bar hdc): Working on back side of indicated st, hdc in horizontal bar directly below top lps.
