PATTERN NOTES

Work motifs in continuous rounds; do not turn or join unless otherwise stated. Motifs are joined together with slip stitches as they are worked. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise indicated. Weave in ends as work progresses.

SPECIAL STITCH Double crochet cluster (dc cl):

Holding back last lp of each dc on hook, work 3 dc in first place indicated and 3 dc in 2nd place indicated, yo, draw through all 7 lps on hook.

SCARF FIRST MOTIF

Rnd 1: Ch 6, join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch to form ring, ch 3 (see Pattern Notes), 2 dc in ring [ch 3, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, ch 3, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (12 dc, 4 ch-3 sps)

Rnd 2: Sl st in each st across to next ch-3 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same ch-3 sp, *ch 1, fptr (see

Stitch Guide) around middle dc of next 3-dc group, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp, rep from * around, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. Fasten off.

Getting Started: Rem Motifs are joined with sl st in corner ch-3 sp of adjacent Motif to form row of diamond shapes. Rnd 1: Rep rnd 1 of First Motif.
