Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Work with 3 strands held together as indicated throughout project. Work from beginning and end of 1 of the skeins or roll 1 skein in 2 balls. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
BASKET MOTIF
Make 3. Rnd 1 (RS): With gold, ch 7, join (see Pattern Notes) to form a ring, ch 1, 12 sc in ring, join in first sc, turn. (12 sc) Rnd 2 (WS): Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join in first sc, do not turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 3 (WS): Ch 1, sc in same sc as beg ch-1, ch 3, sk next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 3, sk next sc] around, join in first sc, turn. Fasten off. (12 sc, 12 ch-3 sps) Rnd 4 (RS): Join cream in any ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3 sc in same sp as beg ch-1, 3 sc in each rem ch-3 sp around, join in first sc, turn. (36 sc)
Rnd 5 (WS): Ch 1, sc in same sc as beg ch-1, sc in each of next 3 sc, *(hdc, ch 3, hdc) in next sc

sp), ch 16, turn, sl st in first sc of 12-sc group, ch 1, sc in each of next 16 chs, sc in each of next 2 sc of rnd 8, [(sc, ch 3, sc) in corner ch-3 sp, sc in each sc across edge] 3 times, (sc, ch 3, sc) in corner ch-3 sp, sc in each of next 3 sc, join in first sc worked across ch, do not turn.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc around outer edge, working (sc, ch 3, sc) in each corner ch-3 sp, join in first sc. Fasten off.
ASSEMBLY
Sl st Basket tog working in back lps (see Stitch Guide) only through both thicknesses following Placement Diagram, with Side 1 facing and holding Bottom next to Side 1 (A), join 3 strands clay in corner ch-3 sp, sl st in back lp of each st across, sl st in corner ch-3 sp. Fasten off. With Side 2 facing, next to opposite edge of Bottom (B), join 3 strands clay in corner ch-3 sp, sl st in back lp of each st across, sl st in corner ch-3 sp. Fasten off. Holding Side 1 and Side 3 tog at C, join 3 strands clay in top corner ch-3 sp, sl st in back lps down side edge, sl st in corner ch-3 sp, ch 1, sl st in Side 3 corner ch-3 sp and Bottom ch-3 sp, sl st across to next ch-3 corner sp, ch 1, sl st in Side 2 and Side 3 corner ch-3 sps, sl st across ending at D, sl st in corner ch-3 sp, ch 1, fasten off. Work opposite edge in same manner, starting at E and work across ending at F. Use care to secure all ends and weave into Basket.
