PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-1 at beginning of round counts as first single crochet unless otherwise stated. When dropping a color from hook, elongate the loop to prevent chains from unraveling.
SPECIAL STITCH
Chain loop (ChLp): ch 10 [12]. COLOR SEQUENCES Small Coaster 1: raspberry, blue, lime Small Coaster 2: purple, orange, red Large Coaster: lime, turquoise, purple
COASTERS
Make 2 Small Coasters & 1 Large Coaster.
CENTER
With first color, ch 4, form a slip ring (see illustration) and join (see Pattern Notes) in first ch. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in the ring, join in beg sc. (6 sc) Rnd 2: Ch 1 (see Pattern Notes), sc in first sc, [2 sc in next sc] to end of rnd, join in beg sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in next sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] to end of rnd, join in beg sc. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, [sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] to end of rnd, join in beg sc. (24 sc) Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, [sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] to end of rnd, join in beg sc. LOOPY EDGE
With RS facing, join 2nd color in first st of last rnd, ChLp (see Special Stitch), drop 2nd color lp (see Pattern Notes) to back of piece, sk next st, join 3rd color in next sc, ChLp, drop 3rd color lp to back of piece, [pick up 2nd color lp and cross over 3rd color lp, sk next st, sl st in next sc, ChLp, drop 2nd color lp to back of piece, pick up 3rd color lp and cross over 2nd color lp, sk next sc, sl st in next sc, ChLp, drop 3rd color lp to back of piece] 8 [14] times, pick up 2nd color lp and cross over 3rd color lp, sl st in first ch of first 2nd color lp. Fasten off. Pick up 3rd color lp, leaving a 5-inch tail, cut 3rd color, cross 3rd color lp over first 2nd color lp, sl st in first ch of first 3rd color lp. Fasten off. (18 [30] ChLps)
FINISHING
Gently iron Coasters. Mix tog 2 spoons of craft glue and 2 spoons of water. Dip pieces in solution and gently squeeze to remove excess. Lay on wax paper and, if desired, pin out lps to open. Allow to dry thoroughly.
