• Red Heart Super Saver medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn (7 oz/ 364 yds/198g per skein): 4 skeins #387 soft navy 2 skeins #624 tea leaf 1 skein each #254 pumpkin, #321 gold, #336 warm brown, #376 burgundy and #776 dark orchid
• Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle

Motif = 43/4 inches wide x 6 inches long
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated. Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated. Refer to Joining Diagram for joining sequence in chain-3 spaces when whipstitching Motifs together. Refer to Placement Diagram for joining sequence of all Motifs, beginning join and decrease points. When working into 3 corner spaces of 3 joined Motifs, work into chain spaces of each Motif, working over whip-stitched seam adjacent to center Motif.
SPECIAL STITCHES Single crochet join (sc join):
Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo and draw through both lps on hook.
Post decrease (post dec):
Keeping last lp of each st on hook, dc in next ch-2 sp, fpdc around next sc dec, dc in next ch-2 sp, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook.
THROW MOTIF A
Make 45.
Rnd 1: With dark orchid, ch 11, 8 tr in 5th ch from hook (beg sk chs count as first tr), tr in each of next 2 chs, dc in each of next 2 chs, hdc in next ch, (sc, ch 3, sc) in last ch, working on opposite side of beg ch, sk first ch, hdc in next ch, dc in each of next 2 chs, tr in each of next 2 chs, join (see Pattern Notes) in top of beg ch-4. Fasten off. (13 tr, 4 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, 1 ch-3 sp)
Rnd 2: Sc join (see Special Stitches) tea leaf in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, 3 sc in next st, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc in each of next 7 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-3 sp, sc in each of next 6 sts, join in beg sc. Fasten off. ASSEMBLY
With warm brown and working horizontally in a zigzag direction, whipstitch (see illustration) Motifs tog through back lps of each st according to Joining Diagram and Placement Dia
gram (see Pattern Notes) and sewing through each ch-3 sp as follows: First ch is sewn to ch-1 sp of Motif in adjacent column on 1 side, center ch is sewn to ch-1 sp of Motif directly above or below current Motif, and 3rd ch is sewn to ch-1 sp of Motif in adjacent column on other side.
Rnd 1: With RS facing, sc join warm brown in ch-1 sp in lower right corner (see Placement Diagram), (ch 3, sc) in same sp, *ch 2, sk next 2 dc, [sc in sp between previous and next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc] to next joined corner, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 3 corner ch sps (see Pattern Notes), ch 2, sk next 2 dc, [sc in sp between previous and next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc] across to next unjoined ch-1 sp**, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-1 sp, rep from * around, ending last rep at ** and working sc dec in 2 corner ch sps at Points 1 and 2 (see Placement Diagram), join in beg sc.
